Payment processing for dispensaries made easy with True Pin Debit Payment Processing. Learn the advantages over Cashless ATM.

Are you a cannabis dispensary, struggling with the cashless ATM terminal? Cashless ATM was a workaround because dispensaries can’t take credit cards. It’s not legal federally. It pretends to be an ATM machine and it rounds up transactions to the next 5 or $10. The budtender has to give change. The consumer pays an ATM fee and obviously it is not an ATM machine, so it’s fraudulent.

Visa and MasterCard are figuring out that their debit cards are being rounded up and certain merchants are taking transactions that always end in a $5 increment or a $10 increment. And so they’re shutting those merchants down. If your cashless ATM is not shut down yet, you are on very borrowed time.

Most dispensary owners that I’ve talked to are fed up with this process anyway. They’re tired of giving change. They’re tired of driving to the bank and getting small bills and coins to give change. Owners used to spend a lot of time driving to the bank with cash deposits, but now they’re driving to the bank to get change all the time.

So what’s the solution? The solution is called True Pin Debit, it’s legal and it’s compliant. MasterCard has accepted it on their Maestro pin debit card. Visa, we think is coming around very quickly. And out of the 16 debit networks, about 13 of them are now functioning on the True PIN Debit solution.

The advantage is, it’s simple, it’s fast, and it’s easy for the consumer. They just purchase for the exact amount of their purchase. It saves a lot of time with the budtenders and the money’s going direct to your bank. Simple, easy, compliant.

Now there are fees with PIN Debit processing, but these fees are far less than the fees your banks are charging to accept cash deposits. So it is a win-win situation for everybody.

And on top of that, the dispensary has an option to add what’s called cash discounting. In other words, if you pay by cash, the posted prices in the store are cash only. And if you use another tender, there’s an extra custom fee and those fees can cover all your processing fees. Consumers seem very happy to pay the fee because they’re kind of tired of running around to ATM machines and taking cash when they go shopping to a cannabis dispensary.
